WE MADE IT INTO THE OREGON COAST TODAY TOP FIVE PICKS FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 27, 2009 and our granddaughter Dahlia made the cover the week before....The Oregon Coast Today is THE paper to read to find out all the cool stuff happening at the beach.
Lincoln Beach Not many businesses have air that bristles and
hums. Most have plain ordinary air that surrounds you as you select,
discuss and pay. But if the business isn’t just a livelihood, but
source of life, a passion, then the oxygen there is charged with the
electricity of purpose. That’s what I sense when I walk into Wildwoman
Creations, the studio and gallery owned by Stephanie “Rosie” Fischer,
in Lincoln Beach. It’s a place where Rosie and her extended family
(including her husband, her mother, her husband’s ex-wife and many
more) come to create and teach, finding solace and peace by making
things they never dreamed they could. Now, that super-charged air is
flowing into My Art Locker, housed in a new building next door. Rosie
has created a clean, well-lit space where aspiring artists, for a small
monthly fee, can store their materials, read reference books and create
to their heart’s content. And the air just keeps on buzzing, with
Community Open Studios (6-9 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month
starting April 7), an art supplies recycling event on Earth Day (April
22) and a decorative stenciling workshop (April 29). My Art Locker at Wildwoman Creations,
4030 NE Hwy. 101 and 3 miles north of Depoe Bay, will be open from 10
a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Monday, starting March 28. For details,
call 541-921-0759.
